The Jedi Master’s Quizbook

1. What spaceport was the Cantina in?

In 1982, 11-year-old Rusty Miller was a simple Star Wars fan living in Florida. But he had a dream.

78. Where was the Rebel base located?

Thinking it would be fun to compile a list of trivia questions from his two favorite movies, Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, he did just that. And, together with ‘his editors at Lucasfilm’, he put together what has since become the Bible for Star Wars trivia buffs… The Jedi Master’s Quizbook.

175. Which of the bounty hunters captured Han?

The simple, 135-page paperback (with a Ralph McQuarrie-drawn Yoda looking pensive on the cover) became an overnight sensation, giving fans the world over a whole new way to appreciate the (at that time) greatest duology of our youth.

196. Who was the previous owner of the Millennium Falcon?

With sections for each movie, plus “True-False Questions”, “Tough Trivia Questions”, “Behind the Scenes Questions”, and more, there was something for everyone. As for the questions, they ranged from ridiculously easy to ‘who-could-possibly-know that?’; we bet even George Lucas would have a tough time answering some of them.

374. Who was the costume designer for Star Wars?

The movies themselves provided the answers for most of the questions, but to keep things from being TOO easy, the editors also threw in a few from the novelizations, The Art of Star Wars, and other obscure sources, including, yes, The Wookiee Storybook.

Sadly, Miller never updated his work to include Return of the Jedi, but we’re okay with that. His original book still works just fine, and for those of us who snapped it up at the library, the bookstore, or in our classroom’s book order, we were (and still are) treated to a bit of Force-inspired happiness.

410. What did Han say to Luke just after the Death Star exploded?

As for Miller, all we know is that (according to the Star Wars wikia) he’s all grown up and now works at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

And he’s probably got an open invite to Skywalker Ranch anytime he’s in town.

423. What were the last words Luke said to Lando and Chewie as they departed?

We ♥ The Jedi Master’s Quizbook.

1. Mos Eisley.
78. On the fourth moon of Yavin.
175. Boba Fett.
196. Lando Calrissian.
374. John Mollo.
410. “Great shot, kid. That was one in a million!”
423. “Take care, you two, may the Force be with you.”
